College Transfer Placement

The Excellence Matters helps current college students to find and secure a place at a more appropriate institution to pursue their educational goals. We work with first-time college freshman applicants on a long-term strategy that involves planning for eventual transfer admission to a more challenging or focused college program. We can help students transfer to and from many kinds of schools, from:

• Less competitive to more competitive private colleges or universities.
• Public universities to more selective private universities.
• community colleges to four-year institutions (from Austin Community College to the University of Texas, for example)
• Smaller private colleges to larger public or private universities.

While some of the most selective colleges and universities accept few if any transfer applicants, most schools, even those that are very selective, accept some transfer applicants each year. We can help students move to and from most of the colleges on our selected college placement list. We often say that we wish every student had a year of college to figure out what he or she wants out of college, and where he or she should study. Sometimes it does take attending college for a year or two to figure out one's goals, preferences, abilities, and interests, or to build one's record to the point where an application to a highly selective institution will be successful. We help transfer applicants to identify their talents and interests, and to find the right match for them so that they will be happy with their second college career.
